photo series "On
The Way to Efrat" shows the deformation of the landscape of a militarized
and colonialistically operating state. Tunnels and detours brutally fragment
the land. The aim is to keep the Jewish and Arab population as far apart
as possible - intended as a protective measure for the former, without
consideration for the needs of the latter.
With "Lifeguard Towers", taken on deserted beaches in Tel Aviv
and Gaza, Raz shows the only border of the state that is not at the disposition
of negotiations and wars: the sea, which simultaneously opens up a perspective
of desire and hope.
