BB
| Cameron Jamie shows his latest
film called, BB. It was shot on black & white super-8 film and
is silent, only with a musical score by a band called, the Melvins. The
film is an extension of his performance videotapes and works made in the
past years relating to the language of fighting and wrestling, it documents
a backyard wrestling match. Backyard wrestling is an underground phenomenon
that is practiced by teenage boys across the country who stage wrestling
matches in the back of their homes. They mimic what they see on television
with pro- wrestling and stage theatricalized and often violent bouts again
st one another. The film shows
the social aspect and theatrics of pro-wrestling and how deeply it affects
peoples lives. BB shows a documentation of this rarely seen practice.
The film is unedited and sequenced reel by reel to give it a visual narrative.
It was shot with two camera angles, and show each angle as it was shot.
