Seven people move through an empty hotel, but there is no evident purpose to their peculiar congregation. Doors open, strangely garbed figures enter through them only to vanish again in the next room. An old "liftboy" incessantly brushes dust off his jacket, and an aged diva in a white dress with a fetishist prothesis around her neck smokes one cigarette after another, apparently waiting for a certain occurrence. A young man freezes his smile with a silver chain, a girl's body inflates pulsatingly, and a man lets a woman bind his arms.

The individual film sequences can be joined together with a remote control, while the sound track runs on continuously. Changing tracks becomes a kind of quest for meaning.

The first half of the film is carried by a deep male voice (as an internal monologue), but towards the end it morphs into a female voice, making the final sentence ("We are deranged") valid for each of the protagonists.
